Colman Yau

London, United Kingdom

Colman leads engineering and the AI platform at Quorate. He started his career at AWS ten years ago, where he helped build one of Amazon's first AI products, CodeGuru Profiler, a performance engineering tool that used machine learning to detect issues early and alert teams before they escalated into critical incidents.

He joined PolyAI at Series B as a Senior Software Engineer, at a time when the company was around 40 people and building voice AI for enterprise customer service. Over the next few years, he was promoted three times, ultimately becoming VP of Engineering. During that period, he grew the engineering organisation from 10 to around 30 people and led the platform team powering voice agents that handled millions of calls each month. His tenure also spanned PolyAI's growth from Series B to Series D, with the company raising over $200M and roughly doubling ARR year on year.

He read Mathematics at the University of Cambridge and holds an MSc in Computer Science from Imperial College London. At Quorate he's translating frontier AI, spend classification, document understanding and agentic workflows, into a procurement platform that delivers value inside a PE hold period.
